BODY SCANNER
Nearby the security passages of the Airport of Palermo the Body Scanner ThruVision T8000 has been activated. It is about a passive technology apparatus which, without any radiation, detects and transforms the millimetric waves (Terahertz frequency) into an image emitted naturally by the human body. Such a system allows to detect the presence of objects which are potentially dangerous hidden underneath a person's clothes, highlighting the contrast of energy emitted by the human body and that emitted by the object or hidden substance. The body scanner presents itself in the form of a booth in front of which the passenger is asked to stop for a few seconds in order to allow a complete scanning of his/her body.
